I was a bit nervous to take this class because I'm very much a beginner at drawing in general, let alone fashion drawing. But it was a very laid-back environment, and Professor Broadway was so encouraging of everyone, no matter our skill levels. I had so much fun and was sad when the last class ended! I also learned a ton from both the professor and other students in the class, some of whose work was very inspiring. I definitely plan to keep up with this new hobby, and might take the class again next year. Would definitely recommend it!

This is my 2nd time taking this workshop with Steven Broadway and the experience was totally different from the first. I learned more techniques and saw growth in my drawings. This course primarily focuses on creative fashion designs on standard garment outlines on croquis. As a beginner's course the instructor will guide you with a standard croqui and will show you how to draw fabric texture. The creativity...is all YOU! This allows for everyone showcasing unique works of art. The course my seem overwhelming at the beginning as Steven pours out garment outline after garment outline. But he will give you plenty of time to draw and develop ideas. Steven incorporates music in the creative process to support the fashion feel. You learn from both Steven and your fellow classmates.

Question from Marit N.
Hi! I am wondering if there are any other brands or alternatives to Prismacolor that we can use that aren't quite so expensive? Thanks!
Answer from SARAH G. Verified Student
you can buy 5 colors or so, that you think you will use the most then you can add more
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Marit! If you go to the art supplies store, you will see other brands. You can just go to the store and find the brand that you can afford. There are other brands available but not sure if there are alternatives. Students should bring their own but the instructor probably has markers as well. If you want to, you can buy a few colors (basic/primary colors) and after the 1st class and you want to purchase more, you can ask the instructor for other brands. Prisma comes in a box and that might be expensive. You may purchase individual markers and then look at the store brands. Hope this helps!
