Intermediate Blueprint Reading

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in New York State, Pace University is extending the remote learning period on all campuses, including New York City, Pleasantville, and White Plains, through the end of the spring semester. While in-person class sessions will not be held, classes will meet via an online format. Students should check their Pace email, read Blackboard announcements, and contact their instructor for further direction.

This class builds upon previously –developed skills in blueprint reading. Great for individuals who have completed the Intro to Blueprint Reading or for construction professionals who have a basic understanding of reading construction drawings, this 21-hour class will cover intermediate drawings such as house and warehouse. Fundamental methods and materials will be briefly covered. 

Participants will receive a Pace University Certificate of Completion.

Topics to be discussed:

• Synthesize basic knowledge of blueprint reading concepts and tools
• Review of a construction drawing of warehouse and office building
• Overview of materials and methods of construction from wood framing, steel and reinforced concrete
• Examine the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems of the buildings

Prerequisite:

Students should have completed the "Intro to Blueprint Reading" course or has a basic understanding of reading construction drawings.
