Late Beginner Fiddle

So you've mastered the basics. Now it's time to let loose and up your violin game with some good old-fashioned fiddle! Our Fiddle Group Class will take you on a musical tour of the northern hemisphere as we explore the traditions of fiddle playing across the United States, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and Great Britain. You'll be having so much fun, you won't even know you're really learning how to navigate across keys, play chromatic scales, conquer tricky bowing patterns, and maybe even improvise your own solos and riffs!

If you're a late beginner level player or above, come on down and join us for some joy-filled learning alongside a group of fellow adult students just like you. At the end of the semester, you'll get to show off your work in a grand ole' hoedown at our studio concert!\

You should join our Fiddle Group Class if you:

• Have completed our Beginner Group Violin Class or are a late beginner level player who has gotten approval from one of our teachers to join the class.
• Are an intermediate or advanced player interested in building your skills in complex rhythm and improvisation.
• Want to build confidence in your violin playing (and yourself!).
• Are a fan of country music, bluegrass, contra and English country dance, Southern folk, or traditional Irish and Scottish tunes!
• Are a beginner cello or viola player (yes, you're welcome too!).
• Want to meet a group of fellow adult musicians as excited to learn as you are!
• While we may call it a violin class, violists and cellists are welcome too!
