Telling a Story that Entertains

Q.E.D.

Five weeks of storytelling workshops plus a live showcase show. The word "story" and "storyteller" gets thrown around a lot. When we hear anecdotes from our friends at bars and parties, we say "Oh man, that's a great story." Comedians say "I want to tell you a story," and then proceed to describe a series of observations and tags laden onto something they saw on the train. Marketing d-bags say "actually, we're storytellers," and then just show...

Dialect and accent are defining qualities, infusing your character with an indication of geography, time period, socio-economic background, culture, and individual personality. In this 6-week class, Jane will teach you IPA and then apply it to various British accents. You will...

  • Voice & Feldenkrais Workshop

It was a really good introductory course with a great instructor! Wanting to explore options for addressing persistent spoken-voice issues, I took a chance and signed up for the Linklater Voice & Feldenkrais Workshop. My expectations were low, but my mind was open. I am so happy I took the chance. The instructor, Tamala Bakkensen, was wonderful. She immediately connected with the class as a whole and with each student individually. Her knowledge of the Linklater/Feldenkrais methods was impressive as was her ability to bring those methods to life without overintellectualizing the process. I highly recommend this course!

This was an outstanding class. Tamela is one of the best instructors I've ever had for Voice and Feldenkrais. It was an honor to work with her. If you ever get the opportunity to take this class, do it! The transformation you will experience is nothing short of amazing. I give it my strongest endorsement.

This was an outstanding class. I never imagined that I would get as much out of it as I did. Tamala is one of the best movement and voice instructors I've ever trained with. She gives thoughtful and insightful feedback and encourages her students every step of the way. She creates a safe and nurturing environment for her students to take risks without the fear of being berated or criticized. She is patient, kind, and passionate about the craft of acting. Tamara is a rare gem. I cannot recommend her class strongly enough.
