The class was great. Paul is a very competent, knowledgeable teacher who strikes the right balance between verbal instruction and hands-on experience. He taught us the fundamentals of operating the boat without overwhelming us with the jargon. It was fun, and I plan on taking another class next year.

Very comprehensive! The instructor seemed a little uncomfortable (just with public speaking) but was very friendly and knowledgeable. I’m definitely going to be signing up for additional classes.

My class was cancelled because I was the only person signed up for it. Communication with the company was very good. Obviously I can’t properly rate this.

Hands down one of the best & most unique experiences I've ever had living in New York for the last 30 years. Being on a small sailboat on the Hudson gave me a whole new perspective on how beautiful Manhattan really is. On top of that, I had never sailed before but found it super relaxing while mentally stimulating at the same time. Very meditative. I recommend this class to everyone I know.

The Intro To Sailing was a very pleasurable experience for a semi-experienced sailor like myself, who was really craving some time out on the water. The skipper and first mate - Rebecca and Sasha - were super nice, friendly and fun. But this was more like a brief excursion than an actual class. True, Rebecca gave every attendee a shot at manning the tiller and we were all free to participate in trimming the sails. I had a good time but I didn't feel I learned anything, except that the Hudson River Community Sailing club exists and has locations there in Inwood and at Chelsea Piers and that anyone can join and there are requirements vis-a-vis sailing skill to become a skipper who may take out a boat.

Had a great time with down to earth people, skilled instructor and great view. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a low key and simple intro into sailing.

Our class actually ended up being canceled because a storm came in around our time and it was raining pretty badly. Our instructor was great because she really wanted us to enjoy our first time out so she rescheduled us for a couple weeks. So far though has been a great experience!

The instructors were nice and the class size was intimate and small - lots of one on one time with the different "stations" of the boat! The only thing I would recommend improving is to slow down a little bit at the beginning and give some actual structured "teaching/instruction" about the boat. We rushed through the vocabulary and technical aspect and didn't even get a basic on how sailing "works" until we were basically in the water. Maybe "learn as you do" works for some people but since it was a one-off beginner's lesson I would have expected a little bit more than just a quick overview. The instructors also had some sort of weird competitive "I know more than you do" vibe going on which was weird but they were super fun and nice so no worries about that.

Very small class (two of us, actually) meant very hands-on instruction. I felt like a sailor by the end of the 2 hours!
