Class Description
Description
This course will include a high level of communication as possible towards the target language of American Sign Language (ASL). The goal of the course is to keep our voices off and eyes open as we practice our receptive (visual) skills as well as our productive skills. "Introduction to American Sign Language" will provide students with a head start in an ASL introduction course.
For students who have previous exposure to ASL, this will be a review that will sharpen and fine tune your current skills. For students who have never used ASL, this class will prepare you for a future ASL course.
This class will also provide students with the beginning fundamentals of ASL by learning about Handshapes, Facial Expressions, Vocabulary, Syntax, Semantics, and many phrases that will allow the student to participate in signed conversations.
Please note that student should bring a valid ID.
For students who have previous exposure to ASL, this will be a review that will sharpen and fine tune your current skills. For students who have never used ASL, this class will prepare you for a future ASL course.

School Notes: Please don't forget to bring a valid ID. Students registering on or after the first day of class shall be assessed a non-refundable late registration fee of $10.00.
Refund Policy
Tuition refunds are calculated in accordance with the Tuition Refund Policy for those students who officially drop a class or classes during the first three weeks of the semester. Fees are not refundable.
- Drops prior to the first day of the semester: 95% Tuition Refund
- Drops during the first calendar week of the semester: 75% Tuition Refund
- Drops during the second calendar week of the semester: 50% Tuition Refund
- Drops during the third calendar week of the semester: 25% Tuition Refund
- No refund after the third calendar week of the semester.
Tuition will be refunded 100 percent for those courses which, at any time, are cancelled by the College. Failure to attend class, merely giving notice to the instructor, or stopping payment on a check is not considered an official drop or withdrawal.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
