Kids Machine Sewing: Clothing (Grades 3rd - 8th)

At Home Kids Machine Sewing will teach you how to make your own accessories and clothing using a sewing machine and fabric.

Once enrolled you'll have access to a student web page that will include On-Demand Videos, patterns and step-by-step instructions for each project being taught in your class. Live video instruction will take place for 1 hour one time per week for 6 weeks. The classes will also include guidance for continued sewing after the live instruction, as needed.

Please note: 

For At Home Kids Sewing Machine Classes you must have your own functioning sewing machine (not a kids machine).

If you are not familiar with how to use a sewing machine, we encourage you to take our Sewing Machine Basics Video Class or book a private video sewing lessons prior to the class start date. This way those enrolled will have a working knowledge and experience operating a sewing machine on their own, ensuring a successful class.

Supplies are not included. You must purchase your supplies prior to the start of the first class in order to participate. You may purchase supplies from us or at any fabric store if you don't have your own materials.

Project Schedule and Supplies

Project #1: Mitten Scarf

Supplies Needed: 

• 1/3 yd. Cotton (44") Fabric for scarf main fabric
• 1/2 yd. Cotton or Fleece for scarf lining and pockets

Project #2: Raglan Sleeve Hoodie

Supplies Needed:

• 1 yd. Knit Fabric (54-60") Main Color 
• 2/3 yd. Knit Fabric (54-60") Contrast Color
