The Basics of a Bubble: Glassblowing Weekend (Ages 10+)

This weekend workshop is designed to give students a crash course in blowing glass. Students will be given the fundamental techniques involved in manipulating glass as a material and creating basic forms in the hotshop. 

Working in teams, students will be guided through traditional processes by constructing solid and hollow forms. This class aims to excite your senses and serve as a starting point for an everlasting relationship with glass. 

This class is open to all ages 11 and up, 10 with parent/guardian.

Preparation for Classes

Students should bring notebooks to each class for sketching steps to techniques, recording inspiration, and planning class projects. Students wishing to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.

Proper Studio Attire

For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair should be tied back.
