Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this kids print making class:

In this class, young artists will explore intricate designs and techniques of monoprint and relief printmaking, as well as alternative processes. Students will develop skills in layering, carving, envisioning, composition and design as they explore materials and techniques. They will also revisit and sharpen their drawing skills to create eye-catching artworks. The medium and processes of printmaking will allow young artists to produce multiples and series of work from the master drawing. Each student will leave with his or her portfolio of prints!


Daily Schedule for classes held at Governors Island

8:45 AM
DROP OFF: All campers must be dropped off at the Governors Island Ferry loading dock at the Battery Maritime Building and signed over to CMA staff for the 9 AM ferry.

9 AM - 9:10 AM
FERRY RIDE: Campers and CMA staff take the ferry to Governors Island.

9:10 AM - 10 AM
SUPERVISED PLAY: Campers will have one hour of supervised play in Nolan Park before class begins.

10 AM - 4 PM
CLASS: Art class runs from 10 AM - 4 PM. Classes take an hour lunch break at 12 PM, with supervised outdoor play on the Island. Campers must bring lunch, snacks, a water bottle and sunscreen.

4-5 PM
SUPERVISED PLAY: Campers will have one hour of supervised play in Nolan Park before returning on the ferry.

5-5:10 PM
PICK UP: Campers and CMA staff take the ferry back to the Battery Maritime Building to meet parents for pick up. Parents pick up/sign out campers at the loading dock upon the ferry's arrival.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy: CMA is not responsible for providing make-up classes or issuing refunds for programs missed as a result of illness, emergencies, or other events beyond our control. If you would like to cancel your enrollment in a class, CMA will provide you with a full refund minus a $75 registration fee up to two weeks prior to the start of class. Within two weeks of the start of the class, CMA will provide you with a full refund minus the $75 registration fee ONLY if CMA is able to fill your child’s place in the class. If CMA is unable to fill the place in the class, the class will be non-refundable.

Cancellation Policy: CMA reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment. If a class has 0 students enrolled, you will be notified of the cancellation 4 weeks prior to the start of the class. If a class has 3 students or under enrolled, you will be notified of the cancellation 2 weeks prior to the start date. If CMA cancels a class that your child is enrolled in, you will have the option to switch classes within the program or receive a full refund. Please sign up early to ensure classes proceed as scheduled.
