What you'll learn in this kids art class:

Stained Glass is super cool! Learn how to make really awesome stuff to keep for yourself or as a gift to your friends. We will be hanging out on Fridays learning the entire process of stained glass from start to finish.

Students will learn how to draw designs, select color palettes, cut sheet glass, sand with grinders, and solder the pieces together. You can make a big panel to put on your window, or a few smaller things to decorate your room. Come to class excited to learn this extremely old art and make it new!

What to expect:

  • Short demos will be followed by one-on-one guidance in finishing your piece.
Eligibility:

  • No experience necessary.
  • Open to high school aged students.
Sliding-scale Pricing:

We offer sliding-scale pricing options for youth classes in an effort to provide greater access to glass education for our growing community of young artists. Please self-select the pricing tier most appropriate for your financial situation. Families who are able to should select the higher tuition so that we can continue to offer our programs with ample staffing of expert teaching artists, and top quality glassmaking tools and materials in our state of the art studios.

School Notes:


Preparing for class 

  • It is recommended that students bring notebooks and water bottles to in person classes. All basic materials and supplies needed for the class will be provided. If students wish to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class they are responsible for obtaining these items themselves. 

Studio Attire 

  • For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair must be tied back.

Refund Policy

Enrollment cancellations made outside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class are eligible for a refund less a 5% processing fee. Refunds will not be granted for any cancellations made inside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class, or for withdrawals during class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
