Bank Street on Broadway, 2nd-3rd Grade

Come and experience all the different phases of creating and putting on a musical. With a focus on collaboration (which will be defined as a group), campers write an original 20-minute musical (book, music, and lyrics), design and craft sets and costumes, and finally perform the piece (as actors, dancers, stage managers, lighting and sound designers, and musicians).  

Along the way, campers also learn the basic terminology of musicals and theater, work hard towards a common goal, and have a good time. Every camper will have an essential role in the creation of the final product. All campers need is a water bottle and a great attitude.

In August, the Theater groups will create small plays in the park on a weekly basis. 

Note: This summer, we are excited to be using some of the classrooms in the Columbia Kraft Center at 115th St. as well as the music room and auditorium in the Bank Street School.
