What you'll learn in this kids writing class:

Strap on your shoes and grab your notebook – we’re looking for writing inspiration right in our own neighborhood! Every week, we’ll journey to Fort Tryon and often venture into The Cloisters to seek out our subjects. Every beautiful tapestry, fantastical animal, and historical artifact is up for grabs – you’ll sketch and take notes on whatever catches your eye. Using what you experience in our travels, we’ll vividly create our own pictures, poems and stories. Scavenger hunts and independent exploration are some of the activities that will fill your journal with unique creations.

This workshop will get you on your feet and thinking about the stories all around you – register now to reserve your spot!

This workshop will culminate in publication in a print anthology. Pickup and drop-off will take place at PS/IS 187 at 349 Cabrini Boulevard NYC 10033, not the Cornerstone Center. If you would prefer to meet the group at the Cloisters, please email [email protected]
