Five Element Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a form of exercise that combines rhythmic breathing with coordinated, repetitive, gentle movement, often resulting in a state of meditation and relaxation. In our office, we often refer to such exercises as “Chinese PT.” Like physical therapy, the movements have a rehabilitative quality in encouraging proper biomechanics, alignment, and strengthening.

Five Element Qi Gong is a system of Chinese Qi Gong exercises designed to regulate and harmonize the musculoskeletal and physiological systems of the body. Based on the Five Element Theory in Chinese Medicine, these simple yet profound movements and postures can be practiced daily to regulate the breath and organs while simultaneously promoting a meditative state. They can be used as a complete set to regulate the whole body, or separately as targeted therapy for individual systems.
