What you'll learn in this fish class:

Fish can be intimidating, even for an accomplished home chef. Learn to prepare several kinds of fish with recipes that you will be comfortable recreating in your own kitchen. Coleslaw and Couscous will round out this tasty pescatarian menu.

There are 2 entrances located between Umbertos Clam House. One is to the left if facing the restaurant and that is 1 flight up the stairs you will need to press 11 then the green bell key and wait to be buzzed in. The other is to the right of the restaurant that is a black street level elevator and just press the elevator button to gain access and go to the 2nd floor. There is also an intercom system there as well in case the elevator is locked. Closest Train stations are: B,D at Grand Street,N, R, J, Q, 6 at Canal Street. Parking is available on Elizabeth & Mott between Hester and Canal Street.

Great class! Nice pace, delicious food, beautiful table set up to enjoy meal in the end. We even had leftovers to take home! Definitely coming back to that studio

The chefs were good but I was expecting to be more hands-on in the preparation/it was more observation. There was a lot of equipment as part of the class that wasn't necessarily something we would have at home, so in some ways hard to re-create the recipes.

Learned exactly what I hoped to learn, while still have fun. Laid back and informative chefs and cool, interesting New Yorkers in attendance. Food was awesome and I got to take whatever I wanted home! Would highly recommend this class to anyone who loves fish.

Great class, great people. I like how the teachers were able to segment people but bring everyone together when there was a helpful tip to learn. I will definitely take another class with Miette!

Miette means, "little crumb" in French. This name was chosen while giving cooking classes at the restaurant Tartine in the West Village. Since Tartine means "slice of bread" we thought it an appropriate name for the school!
