This class was so fun!! This is the second class I've taken with Chef Sandro. Chef Sandro is extremely personable, is always walking around giving tips and advice, and he plays some great music while we prepare and cook our dishes. My friend and I are doing a 3rd class with him in June. Check out these classes, you will NOT be disappointed. The sauce we made for our pasta dish was OUT of THIS WORLD!!!

Instructor Kim, and her amazing team, Jenny and Nubiae, kept the class swift and clear. We learned the basics of pasta-making, and got the aperitif of true New York love and history. New York is fresh Italian pasta. The simple ingredients composed a meal full of generosity and laughter, mixed with fresh pepper, parsley, and heaps of Romano. We were way too happy and too full by the end. But I'd do it til my belt popped.

Pasta making is creating fresh pasta from scratch using a combination of flour, eggs, and sometimes water. It involves mixing the ingredients to form a dough, which is then kneaded until smooth and elastic. The dough is then rolled out into thin sheets using a rolling pin or pasta machine and cut into shapes such as spaghetti, fettuccine, or ravioli. Finally, the freshly made pasta is cooked in boiling water and served with various sauces, vegetables, or meats.

Why You Should Learn Pasta Making in NYC

NYC is renowned for its diverse culinary scene. It’s home to a vast array of restaurants, including numerous Italian eateries, many of which specialize in pasta. The city attracts talented chefs from all over the world, including experienced pasta makers, providing ample opportunities to learn from the best.

In addition, NYC has a rich Italian heritage, with a large Italian-American population. And you may come across Italian festivals, events, and workshops focused on pasta making.

Online pasta making classes offer the convenience of attending from anywhere with an internet connection, providing more options and flexibility regarding course availability. You can learn and practice pasta making in the comfort of your kitchen, eliminating the need for commuting to a physical location. However, a drawback is that online classes usually require you to supply your own materials and equipment, such as ingredients, mixing bowls, or pasta machines.

In contrast, in-person pasta making classes typically provide the necessary tools and ingredients, but attending them means physically going to a specific venue at a scheduled time. Consider these factors when choosing between online and in-person classes to judge the best fit for your learning preferences and circumstances.
