What you'll learn in this more cooking techniques class:

Ok, so you know how to cook a top-notch dish, but how do you get it to look like it does at a restaurant? Join us to learn techniques on how to plate, from the art of arranging on the plate, balancing flavors, to tools of the trade, all while ensuring the food is served at the proper temperature. Take your entertaining game to the next level under the guidance of our restaurant-trained professional chefs. Includes generous portions of the food you plate as well as a plating toolkit for your use during class including tweezers, squeeze bottles and more.

Sample menu:
  • Seared Scallops with Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Butternut Squash Puree and Parsley Oil Garnish
  • Fig Salad with Arugula, Goat Cheese and Balsamic Reduction served with Homemade Mini Croutons
  • Baked Apple Rose Tarts with Salted Caramel Drizzle and a Quenelle of Sweet Mascarpone

  • We have a 4 business days cancellation policy to ensure that we have enough time to re-fill your seat with another student.
  • We do not issue refunds after the cancellation period.

The school reserves the right to reschedule/cancel any class due to unforeseen circumstances without any prior notice. A full refund of the course fee paid will be returned to participants.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    The class was ok. Not enough plating techniques and non to little discussion regarding the different types of tools and plates used in the process, and in general. There were only 3 small plates' demonstration with few ingredients(greens not fresh) and nothing out of the norm that you wouldn't figure out on your own by watching a 3 minutes youtube video. The place was odd, not like a regular kitchen, and the staff seemed to be a bit out of place in the training/cooking area. I really didn't learn much except for a couple of things that I needed clarification on. The instructor was very nice and friendly and so was the rest of the staff. At the end of the 3 hours, it was a cool way of meeting new people and spending a Sunday afternoon in the City.

How much time is dedicated to plating as opposed to cooking food?

Hi there! The focus of the class is plating, so the chef’s do most of the prep, however, there still is hands-on cooking. For example, students sear scallops before they put them on the plate. Hope this helps!
