What you'll learn in this cooking techniques class:

If you find yourself asking for more time in the day, but desire to cook simple delicious meals, this class was designed for you. Whether you are busy raising a family or navigating a successful career and building your brand or businesses, getting back in the kitchen is a great way to support and sustain your energy. This class was designed as a refresher course for busy people. Our menu is curated to be light, healthful with simple but useful techniques to keep your skills sharp.

Dishes We'll Cover:
  • Potato-Leek Soup,
  • Long-Grain Brown Rice with Lemon Zest, Almonds, and Parsley
  • Creamy Polenta with Wild Mushroom Ragout
  • Romaine with Pear Tomatoes, Pine Nuts, Olives, Optional Parmesan (Balsamic Vinaigrette)
  • Quinoa with Pistachios Nuts, Scallions, Mint, and Chives
  • White Bean Stew with Garlic, Tomatoes, Potatoes, Vegetables
  • Berry Tart with Cashew Cream
  • Apple Crisp with Cinnamon Ice Cream
Q: What should I bring to class?

A: As always bring your good energy and enthusiasm for healthful cooking, and with any new experience we recommend bringing supplies to take notes. We provide aprons, side towels, knives, and all equipment.

Q: How should I dress?
For cooking classes, we ask that you dress for safety. Please wear comfortable nice fitting clothing; shirts with sleeves and close-toed shoes or similar chef wear. Sleeveless shirts, open-toed shoes or sandals are not recommended in hands-on classes. Large accessories or bulky jewelry should not be worn. Long hair must be tied back.

Q: Do we get recipes to take home?
In all our cooking classes we provide recipes for you to take home. For all our lectures, we provide the instructor’s handouts.

School Notes: NGI is open weekdays 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. After 5:00 p.m. and on weekends, you must enter 200# onto the keypad just right of the glass doors to be buzzed into the building. Please take the elevator to the 2nd floor and check in at the front desk.

Cancellation Policy for Individual Classes (Single Session) and Friday Night Dinner

Please note that we do not offer refunds but honor a 48-hour cancellation policy in order to reschedule your reservation. If you cancel before 48 hours, you will receive a credit for the amount you paid in your account. We are a reservation-based school, and our classes require purchasing of ingredients for our classes ahead of time based on our class attendance.


If you cancel at least 1 week before the start of the first class in the series you will:

Receive a full refund or school credit.

If you cancel less than 1 week before the start of the first session, or withdraw from the series once class begins, or do not show up for any reason:

All payment is forfeited. In that event, you can either send someone in your place or receive the recipes and/or handouts.
