What you'll learn in this cheese making class:

There’s nothing as satisfying as milky, mild, silky, still warm mozzarella—learn to stretch your own from scratch at this hands-on class.

Learn the traditional and delicious art of stretching fresh mozzarella alongside a Murray’s expert. Because there’s nothing as satisfying as milky, mild, silky, still warm mozzarella. Start by tasting exceptional versions of fresh pasta filata-style (pulled curd) cheeses, like mozzarella, bufala, and burrata, all while sipping our house wine. Then, the real fun starts as you get hands on with fresh cheese curds, stretching and creating your own high-quality mozzarella to take home.

  • Format: guided tasting and hands-on cheesemaking with a Murray’s expert in our classroom
  • Includes: 5 cheeses, curds to make two balls of mozzarella
  • Beverages: red and white wine

Included in the class price are continuous pours of wine for those 21+.


Additional Information

In-person classes take place in the classrooms located at our Bleecker Street store. Our classrooms are located upstairs and downstairs at our venue and are therefore not wheelchair accessible.

Mozzarella Making is for ages 16 and up. For those under 21, non-alcoholic beverages are available as a substitution for house wine—please notify us ahead of time for proper set-up.

During some of our classes, our content team and/or partners may be filming for social media purposes.

Refund Policy

  • Refunds less a 5% nonrefundable processing fee up to 2 business days before the event.
  • If you wish to transfer these tickets to an alternate party, please send us written communication to [email protected] 2 business days prior to the class.
  • Tickets cannot be transferred to an alternate class date.
  • In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    The structure was great - starting with a tasting of different mozzarella considerations. A demo of how to make mozzarella followed and then we were able to make our way. The mozzarella turned out amazing and it is so much easier to do than I thought. Thanks to this class I have the confidence and instruction to make fresh mozzarella at home any time!

    The instructor and facilities were good. The class was fun with an intro to cheese. The mozzarella making part was easy and results were good. Overall, it was a good class but two issues: they didn't show you how to make the curds, which is the most important part of the process (and the only place they recommended to buy them was in PA). And, the course was very expensive for what you got.

    The course was fun and different. The instructors were knowledgeable and exciting. I would however say that the room the class was held in was a little tight.
