What you'll learn in this pie class:

Learn how to make pie crust by hand or with a food processor, then roll, shape, crimp, fill and bake into one of 10 house recipes available. Take home a whole pie you made yourself, plus a reusable pie tin and enough extra pie crust to bake two more pies at home.

Price includes a glass of wine or any other beverage. (Must be at least 21 years old to drink wine and other alcoholic beverages.)

Classes will be in the back area at the kitchen bar. If you arrive early, introduce yourself to the baker on duty and relax with a complimentary glass of wine (or any other beverage).

Alison was so wonderful and welcoming! I appreciated her approach to pie making—use your hands for as much as possible—and together we made a delicious strawberry and rhubarb pie. The pie is by far the best one I've made. I shared it with friends just after baking it and they all agreed, the best pie I've ever made. It was quite a Sunday evening treat. The bakery is cozy and clearly a neighborhood anchor. Everyone was joyful, saying hello to one another and enjoying the day. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking to improve their pie making technique, enjoy a hands-on afternoon learning something delicious, or to a group of friends who want something unique to do together. I'll definitely be letting friends know to come by Pels for a slice or to take a class.

Alison was so great and gave us really good tips for pie making. Highly recommend the coconut custard pie! Reminds me of the filling of a mounds bar. We also got to take home leftover dough for making two additional pies.

Alison was such an incredible instructor, we learned a lot and had a really fun Saturday evening! She was great at explaining while demo-ing and then offering helpful instruction while we replicated the process. She was really patient and not the least bit bothered when our pies took 30 extra minutes to cook beyond the class end time (and she had lots of baking still to do for Mother’s Day). We loved the ambiance of the shop as well, it’s clear she has many regulars for a reason. I highly recommend this class to everyone of all levels and will definitely return to her shop to sample more of her professional creations soon!

This was such a chill, fun class! Alison was so great, so informative, and she let us choose the kind of pie we wanted to make! She made the whole process so simple and easy to remember, and then we got to take our pies home in a reusable baking dish that I definitely plan on putting to work! I highly recommend making the pear-almond pie, I’ve had it for breakfast every day since the class and it is *chef’s kiss* just the best.
