This class is a must if you want to make sourdough bread. Arnie is a gem and very helpful. The Brooklyn Kitchen is a beautiful location. I absolutely loved it. My bread is proofing in the fridge now! However, I feel like an extra 30 minutes would’ve been helpful.

Lots of fun, but the instructor seemed a little scattered today and procedure was a little hard to follow. A broader overview of what to expect at the start of the class would help.

Personable, engaging and enlightening. Reva was outstanding and so was the bread!

Fast paced.. full of information.. lots of hands on and visual learning... really helps to have some basic bread making experience/knowledge before the class.. my only critique Would be to have a longer class (2.5hrs vs 2 hrs),so Reva doesn’t feel so stressed to get everything in.

Well organized and informative way to handle a topic that’s pretty hard to cover in just two hours

The class was great. However it was a little challenging to actually follow the process to bake the bread, and the one pager that was handed out was confusing. Be good to have detailed instructions to start a starter recipe with clear steps ie 1.2.3 and how to bake the bread I believe Reva said that will follow in an email soon. Hoping that provides more clarity :)

The class was quite fun, but a bit disorganized. Chatted with a few other folks after the event and we were unsure we would be able to replicate what we learned / piece together the steps, because we seemed to jump back and forth quite a bit. Making the class a bit longer might have helped.

Teacher was very knowledgeable and there was a useful amount of hands on work. But the promised recipe hasn't arrived and the instructions we brought away aren't clear about the order in which things need to be done. I'm still a bit confused.

The sourdough bread baking class at The Brooklyn Kitchen was as informative, as it was fun! Chef Reva’s infectious dedication to her craft catching. I left with an increased comfort level for my bread baking and tips I immediately put to use in my home kitchen.

This was a great course! Bread, of course, takes more than 2 hours to make; sourdough, in particular, is quite time-consuming. The teacher got around this by preparing materials for each step of the way so she could demonstrate the whole thing, minus the waiting. A professional baker for a decade and a food chemistry engineer before that, the instructor had enough experience and knowledge to answer everyone's questions very clearly, and to a great level of detail. Honestly, I left the class feeling I could make perfect sourdough on my first try. (First try hasn't happened yet so I can't verify this.) Haven't ever taken a cooking class before, so I can't compare the facilities to anywhere else. That said, everything seemed pretty on target--and most importantly, it seemed like everyone could see the teacher's hands with no problem. Course also came with bread made that morning according to the recipe we learned in class; beer & selzer; and we were sent home with a little vat of starter. Highly recommended!

I had a problem when I got there. I had paid for 3, (have the email for 3) and when I got there, the kitchen said they only received information from course horse that I had registered only 2 AND now the class is sold out. So, they thankfully allowed my third person to sit in but I had to pay for another seat. I need to know what to do about this . I have that receipt too so, do you refund me the cost of having to repurchase the ticket or who do I need to talk to? Please let me know. the class was really good by the way !Beth Meyer
