What you'll learn in this woodworking class:

This class covers the same topics as Intro to Woodworking and is open to women-identified, transgender, and non-binary folks. Designed to empower and build community among diverse beginner woodworkers, this five-session class covers:

wood physics
shop safety and etiquette
an introduction to joinery concepts
hands-on experience with the most commonly used woodworking machines

The project for this class is a small side table featuring half-laps, bridle joints, and a round top. The goal of this course is to build a foundation of skills and knowledge so you can work independently on simple projects or move forward with more advanced classes. All tools, materials and safety equipment are provided.

Note:

Wear shop-appropriate clothing--comfortable shoes and no loose or hanging items.
Bring a pencil and paper to take notes (optional).

Refund Policy

We reserve the right to cancel or discontinue any class, in which case you may choose to receive a refund, register for an alternate course or receive tuition credit.

To withdraw from a class, please notify us in writing at [email protected].

If you withdraw more than ten days before a class begins, we will refund 100% of tuition paid minus a 5% processing fee. Alternatively you can receive 100% refund in Makeville store credit which can be applied to a future class.
If you withdraw less than ten days before your class begins, we cannot offer any option for refund.

We are unable to refund tuition for classes students miss due to their own circumstances.
