Craft your own contemporary and minimalist side table, constructed using oak and classic half-lap joints
Woodworking is a hobby that has historically required a connection to someone who really knows their way around a workshop.
Are you unable to casually dabble in woodworking because you need tools and space, but you don’t want to commit to a woodworking apprenticeship?
We are here to be your woodworking plug. This workshop will get you started with the skills needed to design and build the furniture of your dreams.
You’ll begin this workshop with a few pieces of oak. You’ll then cut and shape the oak into the individual parts of your table, using a mitre saw, a router table, a table saw, and a belt sander.
Never used any of those? Don’t worry! Each workshop has a “guide” who is there to guide you (obvi)!
After tool time, you will make sure everything fits together precisely before assembling your masterpiece.
- What You’ll Be Making: A small oak table, approximately 15 inches high with a 9 inch square top.
- Skill Level: Beginner — This course is designed for beginners with little or no prior woodworking experience but includes some advanced aspects of woodworking so it can be enjoyed by people of all skill levels.
- Length: 4 hours, give or take thirty minutes.
