Foundation Paper Piecing

Ready to take your patchwork to the next level? This class is for anyone that knows the basics, but is looking to expand their skills and explore some of the "ingredients" that are common in all kinds of quilts. This class focuses on foundation paper piecing. Learn to sew directly on to a paper foundation to make odd angles and tiny piecing almost fool-proof. We'll start with some simple foundation patterns so you get the rythem of it while piecing 12" blocks.

All of the Patchwork School classes work from The Quilt Block Cookbook, so that you'll be able to combine them into a cohesive sampler quilt, instead of just creating more ufo's.

Skill Level: Must know how to use a sewing machine. Basic patchwork and quilting experience required.

Required Supplies: (all supplies available for purchase at Gotham Quilts)

• The Quilt Block Cookbook: 50 Block Recipes, 7 Sampler Quilts, Endless Possibilities
• 1/4 yd each of at least 4 coordinating fabrics for the blocks
• Rotary Cutter
• Acrylic Rotary Rulers - 6" x 24", 12.5" square (6" X 12" optional)
• Fabric Scissors
• Sewing Pins
• Seam Ripper
• Coordinating Thread (optional)

Sewing machines, neutral thread, cutting mats and iron will be provided for use in the classroom.
