Class Description

Description

What you'll learn in this millinery class:

Have you ever fantasized about making your very own sinamay straw fascinator hat?

In this one-day workshop, you'll learn how to shape sinamay straw over a basic balsa hat block. aSinamay, an open-weave fabric handwoven in the Philippines from the fiber of the Abaca tree, is one of the most popular materials used in Millinery today.

After shaping (also called 'blocking') the straw, you'll make your own ribbon, flowers and bows to decorate the sinamay base.
