Mindful Make & Take: Knit a Cozy Hat

The weather is getting cool and it's time to get cozy and knit! Come make a beautiful hat for yourself or to give as a gift. You'll learn the pattern and will be able to make more at home! In this fun workshop we are going to dive into the purl stitch to create beautiful ribbing and make a beautiful knitted hat. Students will begin the project in class and depending on their knitting pace may need to bring the project home with a clear understand on how to complete it. You'll customize your hat by choosing yarn color and pom pom color. 

Your instructor, Lindsay Bosworth, will have you comfortable knitting in the round and creating beautiful hats on your own in this class. Just imagine, you'll soon be all cozy in your apartment with your favorite drink working on your current knitting project!

Students will start off the class with a short bonus project to gain confidence and skills before moving on to the hat project. This is a small class with a patient teacher.

Skills Covered in Class:

• Learn to knit in the round on circular needles.
• How to drop stitches.
• Knit stitch and purl stitch to make a ribbing pattern.
• Make a custom pom pom.
• Casting on and casting off.
• Attaching a pom pom and tying off your hat.
• Weaving in the ends.

There is a $20 materials fee for the knitting kit you will receive (knitting needles, a skein of yarn, an embroidery needle).
