Teacher: Whitney Newton

What you'll learn in this embroidery class:

Japanese sashiko embroidery both reinforces and ornaments fabric with beautifully tessellating geometric patterns, all created with a simple straight stitch. In this workshop we’ll discuss the basics of materials selection and pattern development as we revive and beautify our wardrobes.

Required Materials:

Please bring along 1-2 pieces of clothing in need of mending and we will patch them up! Clothing should be medium weight woven fabric, such as a blouse of blue jeans.

The After Workshops are a series of high quality hands-on classes, at low cost and low commitment. Materials, skills and fun supplied. Wine is also included but you are welcome to BYOB.

Please Note: Wear clothing that can get messy.

Students under 21 years old can enroll in this class as long as they won't bring or drink any alcoholic beverages in the class.

If for some reason you need to cancel a class you’ve signed up for, please note the following policies:

At least one month before class: Students may receive full refund or credit to a future class at TAC, minus a $25 processing fee for Morning/Evening Series, Weekend Intensive, One Day Classes and 4-Week Classes, and a $10 processing fee for After Workshops.

We are unable to offer refunds with less than one month notice.

All requests for refunds or class credits must be made in writing via email to [email protected] In addition to the timing guidelines above, we of course appreciate as much notice as possible when making any adjustments to registrations.

Coursehorse students will need to contact Coursehorse directly about cancellations or refunds. TAC cancellation policy will apply.

All classes, workshops, special events, and gift certificates are non-transferable. No refunds will be given on Gift Certificates. Gift Certificates are valid for (1) one year from the date of purchase.
