What You'll Learn
How to design jewelry and think like a jeweler, including basic design drawings and concept development.
Techniques for working with metals, such as filing, forming, joining, soldering, and chain making.
Methods for polishing, texturing, stone setting, and finishing jewelry pieces.
Wax carving, ring sizing, and granulation for detailed craftsmanship.
How to recycle metals and incorporate textile techniques into jewelry design.
Basic principles of marriage of metals, and an understanding of manufacturing tricks and considerations.
Supplies and Materials
Tools will be provided for the entire duration of the class.
Materials will be provided on the first day of class, but for subsequent sessions, students must purchase materials. A list of suppliers will be given during the first class meeting.
Additional Notes
Carolina, a Master Goldsmith with 34 years of experience, will teach you techniques and tricks, enabling you to solder on your own by the end of the 5 classes.
The class size ranges from 4 to 10 people.
Students will receive a list of suppliers, jewelry art galleries, and worldwide jewelry artists to help introduce them to the jewelry industry.
Make-up classes may be available depending on future schedules.
A certificate of completion is available after completing the class, but a professional certificate is not.
Students can take home what they make in class.
Materials are not included in the class price; only tools are provided, and students will need to purchase materials for subsequent sessions. A list of suppliers will be provided during the first class.
No refunds are allowed. We can reschedule your class, but you need to notify us 4 business days prior to the class. No exceptions.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
