Learn the basics of working with metal by recreating historical objects of Jewelry.
Each session will focus on a specific era and techniques. Students can purchase all needed materials and supplies directly from teacher in class.
January: Ancient Greek and Roman
Use forging, soldering, and chasing processes to make a Roman Victory ring and a Lunula (little moon) pendant or earrings based on historical examples. Material fee approximately $20, cost will be higher if students choose to work in silver.
February: Viking Era
Learn forging, stamping, sawing, and twisting techniques to make a cuff bracelet and a resizable scutiform (shield shaped) ring based on historical examples. Material fee approximately $20, cost will be higher if students choose to work in silver.
April: Direct Casting — Byzantine/Celtic
Learn to cast in both charcoal and cuttlefish. We will use these techniques to make a signet ring based on Byzantine examples, and a pendant based on Celtic and Viking examples. Material fee approximately $45, all casting will be done in sterling silver.
Online programs:
An access link will be emailed to you after purchase.
In the event that some or all of the meetings of the program cannot happen in person, programs will be held at the scheduled time in a virtual format via a video conferencing platform. The programs will continue through hands-on, at-home activities, lectures, presentations, and/or group discussions. No refunds will be issued should any portion of a course be held virtually.
We are not responsible for providing makeup classes or issuing refunds for programs missed as a result of illness, emergencies or other events beyond our control.
There are no refunds for outings, classes or workshops that meet fewer than three times per semester.
If you are unable to attend, you may contact [email protected] prior to the first date for a receipt that enables you to claim your contribution as a tax-deductible gift.

Refunds are computed from the date written notice is received. To receive a refund, you must enclose the original of your confirmation letter.
Please allow three to four weeks for processing of your refund request.
Processing fees, membership fees, auditions fees and class or exercise cards are not refundable. No cash refunds.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
