It was a great environment because the class size is small. The staff there is very patient and positive that guides you along the way. They understand practice makes perfect and due to the small class size, you get a good amount of practice and get a good amount of handmade [by you] pieces to take home.

Question from Anonymous
Hey, on this course do you make a range of items? I like the idea of making tumblers, Christmas baubles and neon signs.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
8-week Intro to Glassblowing will teach you the basics and science behind working with glass. You may make a tumbler by the end of the class, but the class is aimed to teach you everything you need to know to begin the process of glassblowing on your own/in small teams. The class is aimed at building a comprehensive understanding of working with glass and producing items out of glass.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
It is not like the one day classes where you end up with a couple of objects with the instructor doing a lot of helping. Students should produce a few basic pieces on their own by the end of the 8 weeks. You will do no Neon bending whatsoever, this is a separate 8 week class. You will not make christmas baubles, this is Flame-working. Neon and Flame-working are two completely separate forms of glassblowing and are not part of the 8 week intro course.
