The class was lots of fun and the instructors were all fantastic. I didn’t give 5 stars because I think there was a lot of wasted time for a “lunch break” and 1/2 demonstration which took place at the end of the day

Instructors were very technically skilled, personally fun to work with, and very patient with us newbies. The class was broken down into steps designed to gradually build on skill and use what was learned in each previous step. I loved the work, the process and the pieces i made. It was definitely great fun in a friendly supportive environment. Go Brooklyn Glass!

Review Summary by CourseHorse

Students who took the Intro to Glassblowing: Tumblers Glasses class at Brooklyn Glass had overwhelmingly positive feedback about their experience. They praised the instructors, describing them as excellent, personable, and knowledgeable. The class was seen as informative, fun, and challenging, with several students expressing their desire to continue learning and taking more courses at Brooklyn Glass. Students appreciated the hands-on nature of the class and the individual attention they received in small groups. Many students were impressed with the amount they learned and the skills they acquired, such as gathering and manipulating glass. Overall, the class was seen as a great introduction to glass blowing and an enjoyable experience. Quotes: - "The instructor let us know early on that making a tumbler is a pretty advanced piece of glass blowing, and that he would be assisting a lot. This was certainly the case, but I was very happy with the amount of hands-on work we got to do during this course, including learning how to gather and manipulate glass. You get up close and personal with several furnaces, so a high tolerance for heat is required." - "The instructors were very knowledgeable and patient, keeping us safe while making sure we all had fun. I would definitely do this again and bring my family with me!" - "This class was a lot of fun. It felt a little large at times but it was clear the instructors really loved teaching and made sure to not overload us with information. We had enough hands-on work that you really worked with the glass yourself but they intervened enough that you were successful at it. Highly recommend it!"

Question from Ellen M.
What is the estimated number of glasses you make for $195?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Ellen! One to two, plus most likely a flower and a paperweight. Flowers and Paperweights are formed at the beginning of every class at Brooklyn Glass to teach the student how to handle the glass. Then they move onto making Tumblers. Hope this helps.

Question from Katie U.
Anyone have a sense of how this glassblowing class is different from the other BG intro glassblowing course (same number of hours )?
Answer from S M G. Verified Student
I never took another course before this. I feel like I learned a lot in the amount of time I was there. I made 3 things, a tumbler, a bowl, and a paperweight. And none of them look like a child's art project from school! So we worked until the very end, not when we finished a project. There was time to do another, so we made another. Teachers were all nice and supportive.
Answer from Mary A. Verified Student
2. One was smaller than the other.
