This beginner workshop will guide students in the creation of their very own wearable beads! We will explore color and form through the lens of pattern and texture, applying your unique touch to the art of flameworked glass beads. With safety talks and demonstrations, students will learn the process of melting colorful glass rods at the torch and how to use a basic set of tools to shape the molten material into their own beads.
What to Expect: Beadmaking requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful beads. After demonstrations, expect to make between 2 - 6 successful objects in this class, and a couple failures, while gaining confidence and skill in the studio.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 12 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
