Description

What you'll learn in this glass sculpture class:

In this skill-building flameworking course, students will be working with borosilicate glass. Each week a different project will be initiated, which will focus on a specific skill. Projects include: Networked sculptural forms, solid and hollow sculptural forms, small jars, pendants, marbles, and working with color.

This class will also discuss annealing, equipment safety and set-up, and look at both historical and contemporary examples of flame worked glass for reference. No experience is necessary to take this fun and challenging flameworking course.

School Notes:


Preparing for class 

  • It is recommended that students bring notebooks and water bottles to in person classes. All basic materials and supplies needed for the class will be provided. If students wish to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class they are responsible for obtaining these items themselves. 

Studio Attire 

  • For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair must be tied back.

Refund Policy

Enrollment cancellations made outside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class are eligible for a refund less a 5% processing fee. Refunds will not be granted for any cancellations made inside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class, or for withdrawals during class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
