Unleash your creativity as you delve into the world of flameworking with soft glass. In this introductory class at UrbanGlass, you'll learn the art of sculpting and surface design to create beads and small sculptures inspired by animals. No previous experience is required!
Join us for a weekend of experimentation as we learn how to re-use found glass and re-think what can be created from waste. Students will be encouraged to bring in found glass to cut and crush. However, glass scraps of different shapes and colors will be provided.
We will cover basic skills such as cutting, fusing, slumping and re-assembling found glass into sculptural or functional objects using the heat of a kiln.
Open to all ages 11 and up, 9 with parent/caregiver.

Preparation for Classes
Students should bring notebooks to each class for sketching steps to techniques, recording inspiration, and planning class projects. Students wishing to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.
Proper Studio Attire
For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair should be tied back.

Enrollment cancellations made outside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class are eligible for a refund less a 5% processing fee. Refunds will not be granted for any cancellations made inside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class, or for withdrawals during class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
