What you'll learn in this glass fusing class:

This workshop is open to all ages! Join us for a fun-filled day of learning how to shape soft glass using gravity and a few tools. No prior experience is necessary and no particular skill is required to get started.

This beginner workshop will start with the basics (safety, lighting the torch), move to creating solid forms, surface adornment, and finally basic sculptural forms. Demonstrations include stringers, twisty cane, and applying frit, as well as exploring precious metals as surface decoration and in the creation of findings to finish your wearable work of art.

The flamework process explored in this class is akin to working with warm flowing honey – except that this derivative of sand is 1200 degrees and solidifies into tiny jewels that you can wear!
