What you'll learn in this glass fusing class:

The process of melting glass to make artwork has been around for over 2,000 years. You will get hooked on this enduring art form as you learn to cut, layer, and stack glass that will be melted (fused) in a kiln. Learn the difference between a full fuse and tack fuse, and create pieces with color and depth that can only be achieved with this medium.

Note:

  • No experience necessary.
  • $50 materials fee due at first session.
  • Dichroic glass available for an additional fee.

There is a $15 processing fee for all transfers and cancellations. 50% school credit will be granted for withdrawal from a school program when a written request is received before the second class. After the second class, JCC credit cannot be granted. (however, students may transfer from one class to another of equal or lesser value if there is space availability and with the program director's approval.) All cancellation request must be submitted to CourseHorse at [email protected] Please allow three to four weeks for processing of your cancellation request and be mindful of the timetable described above.

Glass Fusing
Reviewed by Robin Lander on 11/16/2019
This was my first experience with anything creative. I loved this glass fusion class. Melissa Terman is a great teacher. She’s patient, has a great eye and is extremely clear in how she teaches and coaches. Glass cutting is dangerous but she makes it fun and not at all scary. After four weeks, I produced a number of pieces that are really beautiful and useful (plates, jewelry). I will continue taking additional classes with Melissa.
