Description

What you'll learn in this glass fusing class:

This class is for dedicated artists who want to better understand and enhance their creative process in the glass studio, and its underlying needs and goals.

Students will approach kilnforming with an open mind; experimenting, exploring, and embracing the unknown. You’ll practice thinking deeper and speaking more explicitly about your personal process, your creations, and your existential relationship to art. You will learn to strengthen your abilities to concentrate, to trust yourself, and to “see”.

Homework will include:

a concentration practice
drawing
writing
and reading books about the lives of artists

Each class will include an experimental making project, a presentation of your work with a critique/dialogue, and a teacher’s talk with a group discussion format.

School Notes:

Preparing for class

It is recommended that students bring notebooks and water bottles to in person classes. All basic materials and supplies needed for the class will be provided. If students wish to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class they are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.

Studio Attire

For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair must be tied back.

Refund Policy

Enrollment cancellations made outside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class are eligible for a refund less a 5% processing fee. Refunds will not be granted for any cancellations made inside sixteen (16) days from the first day of class, or for withdrawals during class.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
