This course will introduce students to the ancient art of glassblowing. We will start at the beginning, both historically and in the studio itself, taking inspiration from ancient forms and vessels to create our own finished pieces.
Starting with safety information and introduction to the equipment, we will quickly move on to gathering glass, creating solid objects, and blowing vessels and sculptural forms. Using the past as our guide, be ready to explore, create, and invent new possibilities in glass.
