What you'll learn in this sketch class:
In this exciting new class, students will measure, fold, tear, sew/glue and bind together paper to create a book. Following on from that, there will be discussions and demonstrations on materials, including, various types of pens, pencils, inks, watercolor and other drawing mediums used to draw and journal with. There will also be demonstrations by the instructor using these tools to draw with in their sketchbook.
Topics that will be discussed in this class are; gesture drawing, finding shapes and measurements, basic perspective and form building, building a narrative through tying in sketches with notes and visual descriptions, and ways to see the world in ways that you can translate it into your own versions. At the end of this class, each participant will have created their own book with their own hands and filled the pages with their own minds.

Unfortunately, we do not offer makeup classes. The instructor can tell them what they missed. Most of our classes are taught atelier style. If there is a demonstration during the particular session, after the demonstration the instructor goes to each student to work with them on a one-to-one basis. During this time the instructor can work with the student who missed the previous week, talk with them and explain what to do.
