What you'll learn in this figure drawing class:

This class will teach the skills necessary to approach figure drawing. Anatomy will be taught and discussed as a tool to create expressive, interesting figure drawings.  Artistry will be emphasized.  We will analyze the "magic" of old master drawings.

Students will also learn basic shading techniques, expression of line, building solid planes, portrait construction, and a variety of other topics, through lectures and examples. Instructor will demo a figure drawing from reference that will be given to students ahead of time, so students can work alongside the instructor if they so wish to do so.

All levels are welcome.

Registration fee included.

Question from Casey W.
Does this course offer makeups?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Casey! The school only offer make-ups in the case where an instructor teaches another class. In this particular case, the instructor teaches a figure painting class on Mondays from 4-7 pm, which the student can drop in on. Although it's a painting class, the instructor will allow the student to draw.

Question from Mariam M.
How much prior experience is required?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Mariam! No Experience required. Their teaching style allows for most of their classes to be open to artists of all levels of experience!
Answer from Imran S. Verified Student
Hard to say. Ultimately I think the focus of the class is anatomy. And the teacher teaches that really well and is almost relevant to drawing experience. If you're not trying to keep up with basic drawing skills you can learn more about anatomy.

Amazing class, amazing teacher. My only advice would be for there to be a designated area offered for storage of coats and backpacks/purses and such. But, that's and admittedly minor gripe. The class was perfect and the teacher was super helpful and insightful. I learned so, so much. I'm going to highly recommend this to my friends.
