Learn simple wire wrapping skills that will enable you to create your own unique mask chain and keep your mask close!
If you deal with the daily struggle of what to do with your mask when it’s not on your face (what do you mean it’s not on your face?!) you are not alone. Do you let it dangle off one ear? Do you pull it down under your chin (ew, don’t do that!) Where is it supposed to go?! According to the New York Times, “Masks aren’t going away, so consider the mask chain.” and we honestly couldn’t agree more. Which is why we got to work creating this class to solve that very issue while introducing - or reintroducing - you to the basics in jewelry making.
In this 2 hour workshop you’ll learn simple wire wrapping skills that will enable you to create your own unique mask chain and solve that age old (months old?) problem of how to keep your mask close and ready for use at a moment’s notice. Using just wire, beads and a few tools, you’ll learn how to create wire wrapped loops, add beads and connect your sections until you’ve crafted a beautiful, one-of-a-kind handmade chain.
And since we’re always suckers for a multi-use project, we’ll even show you how to add rubber connectors to outfit your chain for use with sunglasses too!
In this WebJam you will learn:
This class is beginner-friendly; no experience necessary! Choose your beads and wire from our available styles (choose from kits with Multicolor Faceted Glass Beads or Natural Amazonite Round Beads at checkout). Have jewelry making supplies at home? Awesome! See below for suggested supplies and sizes.

While using Zoom we strongly recommend video participation. Unlike traditional webinars, we’re keeping our classes small and intimate. CraftJam was founded to foster community amongst its participants and part of this is seeing and interacting with each other as well as the option to receive feedback and support for your projects from your JamMaster.
