Judith Kenigson-Kristy

Teaches at Tennessee Foreign Language Institute

Judith Kenigson-Kristy has been self-employed as a Spanish interpreter and translator for about 30 years. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, she has lived and studied in Canada (Univ. of Western Ont.), Spain (Univ. of Madrid), the U.S. (Columbia Univ. in NYC) and Mexico (Univ. of the Americas). She worked for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Mexico) as translator and co-translated two books on economic policies and trends for the Fondo de Cultura Económica. She taught courses in ESL at the University of Mexico and was official translator of press releases for Mexican President Lopez Portillo. Since moving to the US, Judith has continued her freelance translating activities and added interpreting expertise. She became a Federally Certified Spanish Court Interpreter in 1991 and travels extensively throughout the country to interpreting assignments in federal courts and private sectors conferences.
