I attended Simon's virtual sushi making class with my 12 year-old daughter, and it was wonderful! He's incredibly knowledgeable, and very engaging. I was skeptical about doing this remotely, but Simon had a great setup for teaching (one camera on him, one on the cutting board), and made an effort to ask questions, check-in with each participant, have us show what we made, etc., so that the remote format felt very personal. Oh, and the pre-class checklist of materials to purchase was very clear and easy to manage (another thing I had been worried about). I would definitely do this again. Well worth it.

What a great way to spend evening under quarantine. Simon was a wealth of knowledge who phenomenally kept us all engaged even while cooking rice. Easy to prepare, participate, and enjoy!

The class ended 30 mins early. The instructor was not kind and uninterested in making the class fun. All of the sauces were in plastic drinking cups—we had to scrape sauce from the bottom of a communal cup in order to get some. We had to share one cutting board and one knife amongst 12 people. We had no utensils to eat our sushi—forced to eat with our hands. Not a fun Saturday night atmosphere. Very awkward.

It was a little long (less talking more sushi making). It was also annoying that some people in the class got a living social deal and paid 20-30% less

My daughter & I LOVED this class! Alexandra was fabulous - funny, smart, engaging, patient. And we learned so much more than just about making rolls. The history, where to shop, how to buy sushi-grade fish, how to cut the ingredients, & so much more. I was skeptical about how much I could really learn in one class, but I honestly feel like I nailed my understanding of the basics. A GREAT value, & money well spent. I highly recommend!
