Vivian Fan

Teaches at Colburn

As a solo pianist, Vivian Fan has played under conductors Jorge Mester, Jung Ho Pak, Mario Miragliotta, Sharon Lavery, Peter Askim, and Marc Riley. She appeared numerous times on The Hour of Power aired world wide, and on KTLA and KNBC television as well as KUSC and WFMT radio. As a chamber musician, she has performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Royce Hall, and the California Center for the Arts. She has also performed in Portland, Santa Barbara, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Montreal Canada. In the summer of 2006 Ms. Fan gave a symposium presentation at the ISME World Conference in Malaysia. Prior to Ms. Fan's staff collaborative pianist position at the Colburn Conservatory, she was on the piano faculty at the Idyllwild Arts Academy for five years and a teaching assistant to Professor John Perry at USC for two years. Ms. Fan has also worked as a staff accompanist at the Idyllwild Summer Music Festival, International Music Course of Benidorm in Spain, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, and Montecito Summer Music Festival. Her recent performances include recital collaborations with artists such as Paul Coletti, Shigenori Kudo, and Richard O'Neill and venues such as Camerata Pacifica, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, and Violafest Los Angeles.
