Terry Kelly combines his paradoxical love for both realism and abstraction in his portrait drawings. He grew up on a farm near the ocean on the east coast of Australia and worked for a number of years as an architectural draughtsman. Random events brought him to the U.S. where he rediscovered an interest in figurative art. After getting a foundation in drawing from some of the local Los Angeles teachers, he learnt the psychological aspects of abstract art as an autodidact. Terry appears in the latest issue of American Artist Drawing Magazine.
