Teaches at brunchwork

Robert Brooks Cohen recently served as Executive Story Editor on the 19th season of NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He has been with the show for the past seven seasons, starting as a writers’ assistant before becoming a staff writer in 2014.

Before SVU, Robert was the script coordinator and wrote an episode of Bar Karma, an “interactive” series created by Will Wright and Albie Hecht on Current TV that incorporated fan suggestions into each episode. He was also a story consultant for Jobsite, a special event on The History Channel.

Robert graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a BA in psychology and cinema studies, and he received his MFA in 2009 from the Department of Dramatic Writing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was awarded two screenwriting grants from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation for Prisoner’s Dilemma and Bystander.
