Briseyda Zarate

Teaches at Naranjita Flamenco

Briseyda Zárate is a Flamenco dancer/choreographer, vocalist and master teacher and directs her own company and has performed through out the USA and Spain with noted Gypsy and Spanish artists. Flamenco is her her life’s passion and work.

Career highlights include performances in the Spanish Madrileño tablao circuit, amongst them the renown “El Café de Chinitas”. In Sevilla she was a regular in Triana at “T de Triana” and in Jerez de la Frontera in the “Peña los Cernicalos” and in the 2010 edition of “El Festival de Jerez” under the direction of Javier La Torre. US highlights include Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival under the direction of “Noche Flamenca”, The Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque’s “IV Concurso Naciónal de Flamenco” in which she placed first, and in 2013 she was associate choreographer for the LA Opera’s production of CARMEN directed by Placido Domingo.
