Fun time for everyone! Getting to hear everyone else seemed intimidating, but hearing the critiques helped us all to improve. The fact that she didn't just go from the top of the list down over and over meant that we all had a chance to be one of the first, one of the middle, and one of the last, so it was balanced. I only wish we could break down payments for the courses even further or pay for each section of the course individually because I simply can't afford (right now) what I think would be an amazing program.

The class was not educational and the follow-up was handled unprofessionally. The education presented in the class is predominantly relevant to new talent with minimal to no experience or those who are not capable of having a natural presentation. You read through 4 sides: 2 from their guide book and 2 that they give during the class. At the end of the class they make arrangements to give you a call the following day to discuss additional education options. I set aside time in my schedule to accommodate the follow-up call - this is time that I could have been working. For a company that prides itself on professionalism and encouraging positive business relations, they managed to ruin one with me. They ignored our meeting time and never followed up. I signed up for the course only for the discounted courses offered to people who purchase the bundle to see what I might be doing wrong business-wise - one thing about the industry is that you should always be seeking to improve yourself and your offerings. I suggest subscribing to Gravy For the Brain instead, while their offerings are pre-recorded the instructors are active on their forums to assist subscribers. I am still working in the industry, which is a testament to how you do not need Edge Studio to succeed. You need personal motivation, quality recording equipment, and a desire to succeed.

This is a fun-filled informative introductory class. I took the class with absolutely no prior performance experience or training, and equally no knowledge of the Voice Over business. Now I listen and judge every recording I hear! The instructor, John was entertaining, engaging, and super informative. His warmth and good humor made for a relaxed setting and getting to record twice, and get thoughtful feedback was great. As others have noted, hearing classmates' recordings and the feedback on their performances was great learning for me. I walked away with solid knowledge of how the industry operates, niches I might explore, and some basic "how tos" of how to find work and perform once engaged by a client.

The instructor, John, was very knowledgeable on the subject, friendly, and easy to work with. It seemed like he struggled to give a complete introduction to voice over, though, in the 3 hour course. It also seemed that he was attempting to hit on key points but spoke freely on the subject, as opposed to following a curriculum (which he basically told us). This allowed for some fun personal stories, but it also made me wonder if he may have glossed over helpful information that he forgot to mention during the free-form lesson. I did find some of his personal experiences with voice acting helpful, though, and I can see how I may apply what he learned while pursuing my own career. His feedback during the session was helpful, but again, the recording sessions felt rushed. I would have loved more thorough feedback for the second recording session. I understand that this is supposed to be an introductory course and I felt that John was very encouraging of all students, but I, personally, would have appreciated more honest feedback. Both good and bad. I think the written evaluation provided a bit more helpful feedback, but it was a little more sparse than I had hoped. I understand wanting to push further classes that you offer, but my evaluation also felt a bit rushed. I also wonder if it would help if everyone went once, then have everyone go a second time (as opposed to having each person do both takes back-to-back). I think everyone could have learned from others mistakes and natural strengths before recording a better second take. All-in-all, I think John did well given the short amount of time he had to work with. I would have appreciated more honest feedback in the course and in the written evaluation, and I wonder if a re-structuring of the class could help the students. I also felt that the length of the class made covering everything difficult, but I understand that a longer class could be tiring for both the instructor and the students. Overall, a decent introductory course given the length of the class and price.

Definitely reaffirmed my desire to pursue VO as a career. The instructor was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and honest: she did not fill our heads with false expectations. I loved getting both a nuts and bolts overview of the industry, as well as a hands-on experience of trying out scripts for myself. I'm definitely interested in taking more classes once I raise a bit of capital for myself,

The Investigative Voiceover class was my first experience with Edge Studio, and I found it to be both informative and enjoyable! I enjoyed the opportunity to practice reading a script. I also appreciated the feedback I received, both in class, and through the evaluation. I look forward to continuing to take classes at Edge Studio whenever my schedule allows!
