What he wanted was simple: bread, hearty and wholesome, with a firm slice and a good crust.
Alain Coumont learned about bread as a small child, standing on a chair every Sunday watching his grandmother bake bread. As a young chef in Brussels, Alain could not find the right bread for his restaurant.
Passionate about quality, he returned to his roots and opened a small bakery where he could knead flour, salt and water into the rustic loaves of his childhood.
“Le Pain Quotidien" was born.

Dario was amazing! He did such a great job teaching all of us. He was so congenial and fun-loving, a true pleasure to learn from. I think what would have made it a five star experience would have been to enjoy the pretzels at the community table in the restaurant with toppings for the pretzels, like a cheese sauce, mustards, etc., as well as drinking beer and wine. The class seemed a bit expensive for what was received.
Loved it, our instructor Dario was very knowledgeable and thorough. Would love to come back for another class.

Dario is a great instructor; he is incredibly patient and will make sure everyone is comfortable and productive. He provided great tips and encouraged us to ask him questions. I enjoyed learning how to shape and handle different doughs, and I liked how we got to take our own dough home to try it ourselves. Since I wasn’t heading home right away, the restaurant was kind enough to refrigerate my dough to pick up later.
Absolutely fantastic! It's a fun class for beginners. We played with dough and baked bread. We even got to take home some dough and freshly baked bread. The teacher was great and made it easy for everyone to follow along. If you like bread and you have ever wanted to take a class, this is the one to take.
Very organize. No time wasted. Dario is very patient. He gives instructions clearly and shared good baking tips. He is a good instructor. Class is recommendable.
The class was well organized and very hands on. I learned a lot about biscuit and scone making and was happy to get a chance to make a shortbread. The staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
Great class! Everything was perfect and Dario is an amazing teacher, he took time to explain everything and demonstrate technique. Small group so you get time to prepare, understand and create. Best of all the cakes came out great.
