What you'll learn in this business training:

This four hour workshop (split into two classes, two hours each) will help you in preparing you to be your own sales rep.

Workshop will cover the following:

Do your homework before meeting with the buyer. What do you really know about the retail outlets the buyer is buying for and about the buyers responsibilities? How can you help the buyer succeed and become a part of his or her business.
Do you know the managers of the outlets you are trying to sell to? They can give you valuable information before you meet with the buyer.
Your first sales call. What do you hope to achieve? Are you going to try to get an order the first time? Isn't it better to ask questions about the buyers stores? Share the knowledge that you have been gathering so the buyer knows you care about her or his business.
Building relationships - "Everyone wants to buy, no one wants to feel that they have been sold." Be prepared to speak to the buyer 5-8 times before you get an order.
Active listening. It's hard work, but it pays off. Always listen more than you speak. You want information from the buyer that will ultimately help you become a part of her/his business. The best sales people strive to be partners in the buyers business. Become a problem solver for the buyer, become a sales consultant, not a "one hit wonder."
Overcoming price objections-Remember, if price were the only consideration when purchasing something, we would all be riding bicycles instead of driving cars with different body designs and price points.
When do you ask for the purchase order? Reading the buyers buying signals, asking for the purchase order.
Role-playing: You will practice "pitching" your apparel or accessories product to the class at the second class to gain feedback on your capabilities
