What you'll learn in this history lesson:

Runes are a divination tool dating back to the third to thirteenth century from the ancient Germanic peoples. They are an alphabet known as the Elder Futhark that are marked on rocks or wood, and are used to place in a spread or toss in a cast to read.

This introduction class is a comprehensive overview of the history, mythology, and methods of reading runes. Handouts will be provided and a set of runes used as an example during the class. Feel free to bring or purchase your own in the store! This class if for anyone interested in beginning to learn about this mysterious and powerful form of divination!

Week 1 (June 4th): Introduction the Runes: History of the Runes and getting introduced to each Elder Futhark symbol.

Week 2 (June 11th): Rune Mythology: Learn how each rune has Nordic Gods and Goddess connections.

Week 3 (June 18th): Connecting with the Runes: Develop a deep recognition of each rune by concentrating on each one with different exercises i.e. drawing them, using sound, meditating, talking about them as a group.

We do not have parking. There are many lots available right across the street and on the surrounding blocks, with a typical charge of $8 for the day. There are also meters available which we don't recommend in case a class goes longer than expected (this happens sometimes!).
